Skin Care Tips for Normal Skin

Skin Care Tips for Normal Skin

There are six basic skin types and each one has its own unique set of characteristics and best care practices. ChitoCare beauty has rounded up some essential skincare tips for each skin type. In this article, we look at normal skin.

Understanding what skin type you have will help you chose products that suit your skin’s needs and it will help you develop a skincare routine that works best for your skin type. Irrelevant of skin type, however, consistency plays a key role in maintaining healthy, glowing, youthful skin.

Normal skin is probably the easiest of skin types to live with. It is relatively stable and rarely develops sensitivity or irritations. Let’s take a look at what normal skin looks like and what skincare habits keep it healthy.

Characteristics of normal skin

Normal skin does not usually suffer from acne, oiliness, dryness or sensitivity. It endures most weather elements and is not overly sensitive to products. It has good blood circulation, which keeps the skin nourished thanks to a good flow of nutrients. Characteristics of normal skin include:

  • A clear complexion without blemishes
  • A soft and smooth texture
  • An even tone without discolouration
  • Fine pores that are not overly visible or enlarged

Skincare routine for normal skin

For people with a normal skin type, skincare routines are relatively easy and carefree. A skincare routine typical for normal skin includes cleansing to maintain clean skin and moisturizing to keep it soft and hydrated.

Weather protection

Always wear sunscreen before leaving the house, even in winter, as exposure to UV rays is the number one culprit of premature skin aging. Products containing Vitamin E help protect from the skin from sun damage and fight off free radicals. Proper sun protection will prevent the development of sun damage-related fine lines, sunspots or redness. For post-sunburn treatment, use ChitoCare medical Healing Spray to relieve sunburn, reduce redness and itching, and to promote natural skin healing.

Make-up free

It is one of the original sins of beauty, but we are all guilty of it sometimes. However, it is crucial to always remove make-up before going to bed. Residue make-up, foundation and powder not only block pores and keep in dirt and grime, but they can also lead to acne breakouts, fines lines and wrinkles. Use a gentle make-up remover before regular cleansing.

Cleansing

At the end of the day, even normal skin needs to be clear of dirt, grime, pollution and the daily stressors of the skin. Cleanse once a day, ideally before bed, with a mild foaming cleanser that is hydrating. Formulas containing natural, mild ingredients work best, and make sure the formula does not dry out or irritate your skin after use. Remember to pat dry your skin to avoid micro-abrasions and redness.

Moisturizing

Moisturize every time after cleansing, applying cream or lotion to your whole face and your neck area. Lightweight creams work best for normal skin, while an overnight serum containing hyaluronic acid will keep it hydrated, plump and vibrant. Improve skin elasticity, hydration and firmness with ChitoCare beauty Face Cream. Suitable for both day and night, it contains antioxidants, SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 15, aloe vera and natural moisturizing oils from coconut, macadamia and soybean.

Exfoliating

To rejuvenate your skin and encourage new skin cell growth, exfoliate with a mild scrub once a week to slough away dead skin cells and clear blocked pores. ChitoCare beauty Body Scrub is ideal for daily body cleansing, but it can also be used on the face. Bamboo stem and walnut shell particles gently remove dead skin cells, while marine chitosan covers the skin in a protective film. Be careful not to scrub too hard or you may cause micro-abrasions or irritation.

Pampering

Apply a nourishing face mask once a month to treat your skin to some additional nutrients. ChitoCare beauty Serum Mask is ideal as a monthly treatment, as it deeply hydrates the skin, supports collagen and elastin production, and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized.

End note

Keep in mind that, even though we are each born with a specific skin type, skin type can change as we age, or due to intrinsic or extrinsic factors. The trick with any skincare regime is to keep it consistent and to pay attention to how your skin reacts – to new products, to weather changes, or to hormonal imbalances, such as those during menstruation or menopause
